To enable our continued growth, we are looking to expand our leadership team in Texas through the addition of a TxDOT Market Manager to our dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The TxDOT Project Manager is responsible for growing the Texas Department of Transportation market segment by developing relationships and securing projects with contractors dedicated to TxDOT projects as well as developing relationships and securing acceptance with the local TxDOT District offices in order to execute strategies to facilitate market share within the TxDOT market segment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing strong & influential relationships with highway contractors performing work on TxDOT projects to increase awareness of ADS products.
  • Identifying, pursuing and securing TxDOT project opportunities under the tiered approval process
  • Coordinating with the ADS field sales and engineering teams when needed
  • Developing key relationships with various TxDOT field personnel including District Engineers, Area Engineers, District Design Engineers, Maintenance Engineers and related staff in order to:
    • Increase / build awareness of ADS products
    • Increase acceptance of HDPE/PP pipe
    • Identify projects that qualify for tiered approval process
  • Driving the sales process for TxDOT projects
  • Conducting presentations to various stakeholders (TxDOT, contractors, select engineering firms, etc.)
  • Participating in industry related events (AGC of TX) as well as various political events
  • Participating in TxDOT/AGC related trade shows
  • Developing and leveraging key relationships with various state legislature members
  • Working closely with zone sales, engineering and corporate management to coordinate TXDOT efforts
  • Interacting with inter-company personnel to maximize company performance for customers and sales people (plants, corporate, CSR's etc.) 
  • Effectively execute administrative duties including but not limited to call reports of weekly activities, business justifications, and monthly reports.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering or technical degree preferred)

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 Years construction related sales and/or sales management required
  • Engineered or technical product experience preferred
  • Successful history growing sales and overall business development
  • Recognized industry sales leader (e.g., awards, accommodations, quantified successes, etc.)
  • Previous TxDOT or TxDOT contractor engagement and relationships required
  • Knowledge of TxDOT design and letting process required

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will be interacting with various customers and individuals (TxDOT contractors, Area and District Engineer, agency and political contacts, etc.) on a daily basis and must maintain a professional presence
  • Clear communication skills
  • The employee will be required to travel to various facilities within the state of Texas and must be able to travel approximately 80% of the time (~4 days per week on average).
