Responsibilities

The Quality Technician is responsible for implementing quality methods and protocol in accordance with ADS, and industry standards as well as customer requirements. The Quality Technician is also responsible for driving Continuous Improvement on companywide initiatives as well as plant specific programs as they arise. The Quality Technician is also responsible for supporting the manufacturing operations by helping to troubleshoot equipment and process problems in order to improve the safety, quality and productivity of the shift/plant. The Quality Technician should be proficient with the production platforms of the operation and proactively work to increase the safe operation of equipment, the skills of manufacturing employees and improve processing techniques and productivity. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, work various shifts if needed, and weekends as required. A Quality Technician reports to the Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive Continuous Improvement at the company level through active involvement in OEE activities
  • Monitor retain sample program and review all correlation issues with the LO. Issue corrective action as necessary
  • Implementation and training of company, AASHTO, ASTM & CSA quality standards
  • Daily review of product from all lines and inventory since previous day. Communication and follow-up between plant leadership
  • Ensure compliance through training, follow-up and documentation to plant management team if issues persist
  • Facilitate monthly quality training in partnership with the Production Manager to Line Operators, Downstream Technicians, Loaders and Material Handlers

Other Referred Experience:

  • 2-year in Quality related job, knowledge of plastic extrusion
  • 2-year associates degree in Industrial Management or Manufacturing

  • 2-year in Supervisory role

  • 3-5 years related manufacturing/quality experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Prior supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
  • The employee will be working specified shifts and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
  • Facilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
  • The Position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
  • The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
